Another Post from the Old Woman

To top off my weekend where I pretend I'm 80, I went with my Cusco buddy to the Louis Comfort Tiffany exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art.

I must admit that I wasn't expecting much of it (Um what's so cool about lamps and jewelry?? and haven't we all painted stained glass?), but I'm now a big LCT fan. His talent goes waay beyond painting Shrinky Dinks (my previous experience with sort-of stained glass.. or whatever it was). The guy did EVERYTHING. Stained glass art and lamps, furniture, crazy vases, painting, photography, jewelry.. not just doing, but inventing new ways to do.

Does he pour the glass into the lead frames? Some looked poured, some pieces were too 3-D to be poured.. The best pieces were ones where he layered different types of glass and medium.

I'm having trouble finding any pictures that do his work justice, that capture the intracacies of the lead and glass work... and most of his art on the web are his lamps.. I guess it's just something you have to see.

Oo here's a cool vase:
