Loose Change

I'm absolutely sick of shock and awe documentaries that either (A) do not use sources or even reputable sources or (B) manipulate evidence to "prove" their point.

Now, Loose Change is a compelling documentary and I would encourage anyone to see it, but just like all other conspiracy theory documentaries, don't just see the movie and then proceed to call on everyone you know to grab the closest blunt object and run for the White House. Please do some post-viewing research. (It can be downloaded for free from the website)

Oops. Right. Loose Change (if you haven't heard of it.. I guess it's been popular on the net for awhile, but I just heard of it last week) is a documentary on 9-11 that "shows direct connection between the attacks of September 11, 2001 and the United States government."

Much of the evidence presented is convincing. I've seen many of these types of documentaries, and this is one of the best I've seen. The filmmakers attempt to use science and direct evidence to prove all of their claims. Such claims include:
- Aircraft debris was not recovered --> WTC collapsed due to explosives, Pentagon due to a missile
- The plane that supposedly crashed in Shanksville, PA landed safely in Cleveland.

I won't go into a detailed assessment of the film here as it would take up too much space, and you should really just see it. If you don't want to take the time to watch the movie, a site by the 9/11 Research goes through the film's claims point by point, stating why they are correct or misleading, or outrightly false.

To its credit, the film at least brings up some good questions (that of course shouldn't be brought up in debate :)). I wouldn't be surprised if we don't know the whole truth about what happened on 9/11, but unfortunately Loose Change with its misleading claims does little to clear the air.

Oh my gosh, chica! I clicked on that YouTube link about "responsible debate" and it just got out of control. I spent the last hour watching Daily Show clips.

What's The Matter With Denmark?
American Resolution
Canada Attacks

Hilarious.

This one, Not in my Front Yard, made me cry.
