Lawn Necessities

After taking part in a push mower test project one month back, gnome and I decided we need to buy one of our own. We never mow the lawn, instead preferring what we like to think of as a wildlife refuge (actually possible here to register your yard as such), but of course that isn't preferred by everyone (ahem, a few neighbors). The kicker was that we think that someone turned down renting one of his properties because of the foot-long grass. I think it's beautiful, but hey. The grackels for one like a mowed lawn.
On your left is something everyone needs. You mean you don't roll your lawn either? What kind of unkempt nutbag are you? hehe.
Anyway, we're looking into a few push mowers because they're actually kinda fun. I don't think I'd last the whole yard, but they're great for small spaces.
For the less hard core there are electric mowers. South Home Depot is having a thing next next weekend where you can trade in your gas powered mower for an electric one and get a discount. See http://www.cmpbs.org/electriclawnmower/ for more info.
oops, too bad. the rollers are out of stock.

Cool, we'll bike on by soon once gnome gets back in biking condition! We've also been trying to replace the invasive grass with native plants, but it takes time. Bermuda grass is one tough monkey.
